Crimes punishable by Karma

Don’t you just hate it when…
I think for a lot of people that could be a very long list.
Today I am going to complain! I am usually in a very chipper mood.
Every now and again I get my bloomers in a bundle, so I am going to let you in on my “don’t you just hate it when” for today.

Friends.
Such a simple word. F-R-I-E-N-D.
What is the definition of a friend? Good old Webster says…

FRIEND
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English frend, from Old English frēond; akin to Old High German friunt friend, Old English frēon to love, frēo free
Date: before 12th century
1 a : one attached to another by affection or esteem b :acquaintance
2 a : one that is not hostile b : one that is of the same nation, party, or group
3 : one that favors or promotes something (as a charity)
4 : a favored companion
5 capitalized : a member of a Christian sect that stresses Inner Light, rejects sacraments and an ordained ministry, and opposes war -called also Quaker

I think different people have different interpretations of what qualifies a person as a “FRIEND.”
To me a FRIEND is someone who doesn’t judge you, someone who trusts you, someone you can trust. They are the person that you
can talk to by any means, on the phone, one the internet, or through the mail. You can complain to them about anything, and they wont hold
it against you even if they disagree. You can always agree to disagree with them. You can tell them all the wonderful things in your life without
feeling as though you are bragging. You show up for them when they need you no matter how ridiculous you might find it to be and you never judge them.
You show up for them for the serious things in life too.
I have old friends, who are not just old people, but people I have long since considered a friend.
I have new friends too. Rather a person is an old friend or a new friend I consider them a friend just the same the same.
I have friends I have known for many a many of years. Even if I don’t talk to them on a regular basis anymore, I still consider them a friend.
In a time of need for whatever I would bounce right back into the friendship and be there, or if they just wanted to chat for a moment in their busy life, I will be there.

That’s where my “don’t you just hate it when” comes in at.
I had an old friend call last week to say, “hello” and catch up for a moment. It had been several years since I talked to this person. That’s okay.
I don’t mind that I popped into your head and you wanted to give a ring. (ring as in ringer/telephone) I am good with that.
That happens to me from time to time. Someone will slide into my thoughts and I will call to check up on how they are doing.
But what I don’t like is when an old friend calls and says they would like to get back in touch but have absolutely no intention of actually getting back in touch.

There is no need to feel obligated to a person. It is quite okay to be vocal and express yourself with out having to pretend to be interested in what is
actually going on in a persons life. I don’t have time in my life for falseness. If you ask me to do something, if you ask me to share with you I am more than
willing to do so with no expectations in return. But knowing that I am busy, knowing that I have things to do, knowing I don’t have time for much and asking me to go out of my way for you simply because you want to seem nice but you aren’t really interested, that should be a crime punishable by karma! Open yourself up. Talk. Free your thoughts. There is very little a person can say to me with me truly being hurt. I am old enough where peoples (especially certain persons… *clears throat*) level of being judgmental does not bother me. But wasting my time will hurt me. You do not have to ask me to share myself with you when you really have zero intentions.

Just my thoughts for today.

Wishing Everyone a wonderful Thursday! 🙂
